The museum is located in the monumental, wattle and daub residential house from the 18th century. It presents collections divided into the following departments: historical, archeological, ethnographical, and art. Expositions are dedicated to the history and culture of the city of Złotów and the area. Apart from permanent exhibitions, the facility also organizes temporary exhibitions.
Historical collections present the history of the city from the times of First Rzeczpospolita to the present. There are, among others, paintings, furniture, photographs, and maps. The archeological exhibition consists of objects from the Stone, Bronze, and Iron Ages. Its exhibits were discovered during excavation works in Maryniec, Stawnica, and Stara Wiśniewka.The ethnographical department presents the folk culture of the local people. Visitors can admire old costumes, everyday objects, and pieces of sacral and folk art. The art collection contains works by Teresa Jakubowska - painter and graphic artist from Złotów.Less
