The church of Saint Stanisław Kostka is the oldest religious building in Piła. It is a former Lutheran church. It was built in the neo-Gothic style at the end of the 19th century. From the original decor, stained glass rosettes in the presbytery and the altar mens have survived.
In 1892, Piła was largely destroyed as a result of the uncontrolled flow of water while digging an artesian well. After stopping the catastrophe that claimed 42 houses of Friedrich Gotlieb Rademacher, a local church commissioner called for the construction of a new church, which was to be a votive offering for saving the rest of the city. In the years 1896-1897, according to his design, a Protestant church was built, which today is the seat of the parish of St. Stanisław Kostka. It is a neo-Gothic, one-nave building with a presbytery closed on three sides. A slender tower rises above the entrance, and the corners support the buttresses. Inside, some stained glass windows from the end of the 19th century have survived. Others are later additions. On the neo-Gothic altar mensa stands a newer sculpture depicting the crucifixion.Less
