Locomotive Depot Heritage Museum

Local name: Skansen Lokomotyw

The open-air museum is located in a separate track and includes 14 locomotives and other vehicles used in the past by the Polish State Railways. One of the exhibition pearls is the only preserved in our country, the Ty246 American production steam locomotive and the pre-war "wagon" of a tourist train carrying tourists to Zakopane Gubałówka.

The Museum of History, adjoining to the museum, stores documents, photographs, models and models of locomotives that can be found on Polish tracks. In addition to the locomotives in the open-air museum, you can see the swirl plow, the 1942 US Army mobile steamer, the generator or the Perlom petrol engine.

The Museum was established in the 80s of the 20th century on the initiative of active and former employees of the Rolling Stock Department in Karsznice, to protect the historical exhibits from destruction and to commemorate the operation of the Silesian-Porty coal railway, because of its on-site map of Poland Karsznice.
