Wielka Krokiew in Zakopane is one of the two large ski jumps in Poland. It's a natural ski jump with a height of 134m, situated on the mountain slope. It was used many times for international ski jump cups and is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Zakopane.
Wielka Krokiew bears the name of ski jumper Stanisław Marusarz. It's a vibrant place especially during the winter season when the best sportsman in the world come to Zakopane. During competitions, as much as 40 thousand sports enthusiast can gather at the jump. Thanks to the proper lighting, competitions can be organized even at night. Moreover, it's the only jump in Poland equipped with ice tracks what means that contests can also take place at 20 degrees Celsius.In 2010 the official record of the jump was set.
