Murowaniec PTTK mountain hostel

“Murowaniec” PTTK Mountain Hostel is situated in Hala Gasienicowa under Mount Kasprowy. The building was built in the interwar period. Later it was modernized several times. It is made of stones with a corner part resembling a tower. The attics were made of wood. During the renovation, the original look of the corridors and staircases remained the same. Hostel Murowaniec was built in 1921- 1925 with the participation of the army. The building was made of rough stones. It is resembling Zakopane style, but due to the use of stones, it fits well into the mountain landscape.

The rooms and the canteen were rebuilt. During further renovations, the staircases kept their old style lined with stones. On the balustrades one can see the swastika symbol, which was called by the mountaineers „unexpected cross”. The hostel can have 116 accommodation places in private, as well as dormitory rooms. He also runs a restaurant. In the general hall there is also a small self-service kitchenette.
