Established in 2012, the Museum of Neons is the only institution in Poland devoted to the post-war neon signs. It is located on site of the postindustrial space of Soho Factory on Praga-Południe. Museum gathered in its collection more than 100 neons and other advertising installations, which had to be removed from their original locations.
A collection is still growing. Most of the exhibits has a serious commercial value, and their creators were graphic designers, visual artists and architects from, so called, Polish School of Poster.
Besides familiarize themselves with the collection, visitors can discover the secrets of neon signs and, thanks to the visual installation, learn how they can shine with variable colours.
The old neons are spared and renewed since 2005, when - one of the founders of the museum - Ilona Karwińska looked after a neon of the old shop "Berlin". Institution is also taking care of the neons, that are still hanging in Warsaw.
