Bieszczady bicycle draisines
Local name: Bieszczadzkie drezyny rowerowe
In 2015, the first bicycle rental shop in Poland was opened in Uherce Mineralne. In the same year, the Polish Tourist Organization chose it as the Best Tourist Product. The shared tour route is over 40 km long and coincides with the route of the former railway line 108.
A trip by draisines is a great opportunity to admire the beauty of the mountains from a different perspective. The draisines are four-person (2 people sit comfortably, while 2 propel the draisine with the strength of their muscles). Depending on the route chosen and the season of the year, the draisine trip lasts 1 to 4 hours. The draisines run towards Ustrzyki Dolne or Zagórze.
Railroad No. 108 was built in 1872 by the authorities of the Austrian Empire. It connected the town of Stróże with the border crossing in Krościenko and was an important element of the railway infrastructure. In 1988 the rope was electrified on the Stróże - Jasło section. Traffic on route No. 108 was suspended in 2013.
