The unusual museum is an opportunity to get to know the culture of many ethnic groups from distant regions of the world. The exhibition is presented in eight thematic rooms on two floors of a historic building. You can learn about fabrics and clothing, tribal body decorations, ritual masks and musical instruments, jewelry, figurines and statuettes, and many other interesting artefacts brought from distant journeys by the travelers couple. There was also an exposition devoted to great explorers and a room in which Polish contribution to describing and propagating travel was presented.
The collection was initiated by about 800 exhibits donated by Elżbieta Dzikowska, brought from many trips held together with her husband, Tony. The collection donated by Mrs. Dzikowska turned out to be so large that, for its purposes, the tenements at 9 Franciszkańska Street were renovated and adapted for exhibition purposes. The collection is systematically enriched with the next gifts of the initiator.Less
