It is a museum in the 16th-century historic tenement house on the Market Square. King Jan III Sobieski and kings August II I August III. The permanent exhibitions in the building refer to the march of King Jan III Sobieski by the Tarnowskie Gory on the way to Vienna, the history of the region itself and the relics of the Renaissance.

Among the collection of the Museum are also objects related to the local Brotherhood of Strzelecki, a collection of Western European paintings, mentioned souvenirs after the stay of King Jan III Sobieski and tin products, the oldest dating back to the 17th century. Among the most interesting exhibits are the funerary shields of the Friars Minor Brotherhood from the beginning of the 19th century, the portrait of Ferdinand II of Habsburg from the 17th century and the "Baptism of Christ" from Poland of the same age brought to Poland by Zygmunt Krasiński's grandmother.

Although the idea of ​​the founding of the museum and the beginning of the harvest took place already in 1886, it was officially founded in 1958.
