SZKLARSKA PORĘBAPoland
Cuckoo Rocks
Local name: Kukułcze Skały
A grouping of granite rocks located at an altitude of 1053-1125 m above sea level on the northern slope of the Silesian Ridge (between the valleys of Szrenicki Potok and Bystrego Potok). In their vicinity there is a yellow tourist trail from Szklarska Poręba to the hostel "Pod Łabskim Szczytem". Three tower-shaped rocks are used as a climbing object.
The middle of the three towers was called the Pendulum - it is so positioned between two larger ones that it can be moved. Apparently the pendulum can set in motion even a particularly strong wind.
On Kukułcze Skały, as on many other Karkonosze rocks, we can observe the evidence of ongoing geomorphological processes, e.g. cracks running in three directions, i.e. granite blow.
