The Church of Our Lady of Jasna Góra is located in a building that originally served as a water tower for municipal water supply network. It was built on the 16th-century plan, combining elements of old-Christian, Byzantine, and Romanesque architecture. The tower was adapted to the needs of the temple in the 1980s. At that time, the interior and the roof support system were rebuilt, and the extension buildings were added that house nowadays the sacristy, the church porch, and two chapels.
The building dates back to 1861 and had been serving as a water tower until the end of the World War II. It was then used as a sheepfold and then transformed into residential and warehouse rooms. It was not until December 1984 that it was handed over to the Church and demolition and adaptation works began. In 1992, a granite staircase and a driveway for the disabled were built onto, and the entire temple was surrounded by a stone wall.Less
