Orthodox church of the Dormition of the Mother of God

Local name: Cerkiew Zaśnięcia Matki Boskiej

The Orthodox Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God, one of the destinations in the Subcarpathian Wooden Architecture Trail, was entered in the register of objects of cultural heritage. It consists of, among others, the iconostasis from the times of the church's origins, and the ornamental polychromy from 1925. One of the authors of the polychromy was aide-de-camp of Semen Petlura. The church's presbytery is oriented to the east. Masses are said with candles because the church doesn't have electricity.

The wooden log church was built between 1888 and 1889 by carpenter Hosjan from surrounding village Płonna. In the beginning, it was a Greek-Catholic church. After resettlements which took place after World War II, it was used by State Agricultural Farm. It started falling into ruin at that time. At the end of the 1950s, it passed to a private person and was to be dismantled, however, its followers prevented that. Nowadays, it operates as a parish Orthodox church.

The wooden belfry is situated on the church's axis. There is also a cemetery nearby. One of the crosses there commemorates the 1000th anniversary of the Christianization of Kievan Rus'. The obelisk dedicated to displaced people can also be found there.
