The ruins of the castle rise on a low basalt hill near the very famous Czocha Castle. To our times, quite large fragments of the oldest part of the fortress, the tower, walls, and the remains of the later palace and chapel have survived. Currently, the castle is in private hands. Renovation works are underway, and a museum is also planned to be opened.
The stronghold was probably built in the 14th century. It appeared in written sources during the reign of Henryk I Jaworski. The castle guarded the trade route from Łużyce to Lubań and Jelenia Góra. After a fire in 1827, it was not rebuilt, although it was partially used in the 20th century - the ruins were turned into an inn, and after World War II even social housing.
