Church of Virgin Mary and St. Thomas of Canterbury

Local name: Kościół pw. NMP i św. Tomasza Kantuaryjskiego

The Abbey consists of monastic buildings, church and fortifications, and several farm buildings. The most important element is the three-nave basilica of Sts. Tomasz Kantuaryjski and the eastern wing of the monastery in which the museum is located. The Cistercian Abbey in Sulejów is one of the best preserved Cistercian cemeteries in Poland and was entered in the 2012 List of Historical Monuments.

Church of Sts. Thomas dates back to the thirteenth century, and its exterior is decorated with a Romanesque portal and rosette. The interior of the temple is in Baroque style and Rococo style. The only surviving part of the monastery is its eastern wing, where the late Romanesque chaplaincy and Gothic cloisters remain. The vault of the captain is based on one column. The fortification that remains is composed of six towers and fragments of the wall. The oldest tower dates back to the end of the 15th century.
