The "Starzawa" reserve is located in the Stubno commune in the Przemyśl poviat, near the border with Ukraine. It covers an area of over 196 ha. It covers one of the rarest forest complexes in the Sandomierz Basin: the elm and ash riparian forest. You can see here, among others wonderful elms, oaks, ash trees and black alder. Among the 245 plant species found in the reserve, the rare and valuable cube chessboard deserves special attention. Visitors to the reserve can relax on specially prepared benches and familiarize themselves with information boards.
The reserve established in 2003 is partial. Due to the exceptionally clean environment and close proximity to the ponds belonging to the Fisheries Farm, many species of birds are eager to stay here, including considered to be a symbol of the Stubno commune, a white stork. The wetland is rich in swamps and ponds, crossed by numerous canals and the Krzywula stream. When choosing a walk around the reserve, remember about waterproof footwear.
