Historic Dutch windmill

The Historic Dutch windmill in Stara Różanka was entered in the register of objects of cultural heritage. The red brick building consists of the solid base and movable roof with six propellers. It was built at the turn of the 19th century.

The windmill operated until the 1960s. Later, it was taken over by "Agrokompleks" in Kętrzyny which made it into the inn "Belje".

Today, the windmill is thoroughly renovated and is a local tourist attraction. It remains as private property and can be spotted on the way from Kętrzyny to Barciany.

It is one of the few such well-preserved Masurian windmills. Other objects of that type can be admired in the Ethnographic Park in Olsztynek.
