Sopotnia Wielka Waterfall
Local name: Wodospad w Sopotni Wielkiej
It is the largest waterfall in all Polish Beskids. It is located at an altitude of 612 meters above sea level and its height is 10 meters. Over the waterfall there is a bridge from which tourists can admire it and descend down where the water collides with a stream of water. The waterfall is a natural monument.
The stream itself Sopotnia has a stony, deeply indented creek bed. Its steep cliffs are covered by natural oak, which is a multi-layered deciduous forest. There are many rock formations that make up small waterfalls. The waterfall described is among them the highest. Interestingly, it is a rare case of a cataclysm waterfall in which layers of rock fall steeply in the same direction as the water runs. At a place where the water falls, he strikes an evaporative boiler at a depth of 5 meters, making it a deadly dangerous place for tourists bathing in this place.
