Łącka dune

Local name: Wydma Łącka

The Łącka Dune is one of the two moving dunes open to the public in the Słowiński National Park. It is situated between the coast of the Baltic Sea and Lake Łebsko. Due to the winds, the dune moves from a few to several meters a year. Its highest point is 42 meters high. It is the largest moving dune in Poland.

From its top you can observe the sandy, desert dune area, Łebsko Lake, the sea coast and the Rowokół hill, which is the highest point in the area. You can get to the dune on foot, by bike or by car. You can also rent electric cars in the nearby town of Rabka. You can also observe the dune during a boat trip.

The name of the dune refers to the village of Łączka, which was located years ago in a place with a desert landscape. The town was buried by sand.
