The Żywiec Ethnographic Park is the newest museum of the open-air museum type in Poland, in which visitors can see buildings typical of the Żywiec Beskids. The buildings located within the open-air museum are original, historic buildings moved here from nearby towns.
Most of the wooden buildings include, among others, a school building from the beginning of the 20th century, a granary and a peasant farm with a residential house from the 19th century, a rich peasant's cottage from 1911 and a herbalist's cottage. The interiors of these buildings are designed to show visitors the customs, lifestyle and culture of the people who lived there.
The park is constantly being expanded and more buildings are added to it. The Park also organizes various types of themed workshops and activities for children and adults.
