Wooden Church of Sts. James and Philip in Sękowa is a true pearl of the Low Beskydy. Along with other wooden churches in southern Malopolska and Podkarpackie, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The church itself, like its equipment, is a few hundred years old.
The church in Sękowa by many people is considered the most beautiful wooden temple in Poland. It was built in the 20s of the 16th century and additionally expanded about 100 years later. It is characterized by unusual aesthetic, landscape and architectural values.
Church of Sts. James and Philip have reached warfare, so there are relatively few items left of his original equipment. The late Renaissance renaissance altar, the Gothic baptismal font from the sixteenth century, three late Gothic portals, seventeenth-century folk-baroque paintings of the Way of the Cross and small fragments of nineteenth-century polychrome are among the survivors of the destruction and not stolen.
