Museum of the Rawa Land

Local name: Muzeum Ziemi Rawskiej

The Museum of the Rawa Land is located near the 19th-century monumental park. It has two permanent exhibitions: "Traditional peasant izba from the Rawa region" - the reconstruction of the interior of peasant house with holiday decoration from the period between 1880 and 1950 - and "Grandma's living room from the turn of the 20th century". The facility also organizes frequent temporary exhibitions dedicated to historical figures and holiday themes.

The museum was established in the 1960s. In the beginning, it was located in the monumental flanking tower of the Castle of Masovian Dukes, and then in the facility adjoined to the local Jesuitic collegium. Its collections were moved to the present building - a villa built in the 1930s - in 1981.

In the beginning, the museum was dedicated to only three subjects: archeology, ethnography, and history. Today's offer also contains numismatics, art, and library.
