The Przemyśl Fortress Museum is located in the building of the Various Crafts Guild. Its branch is the fort XV Borek in Siedliska near Przemyśl. At the exhibition in 3 halls in the Old Town you can see the military excavated during work on various forts of the Przemyśl Fortress. In Siedliska, elements of armored equipment, armored domes and cannons are presented.
In the period from the mid-nineteenth century to World War I, Przemyśl was the third largest fortress in Europe after Verdun and Antwerp. Its forts are scattered in villages near Przemyśl approximately 15 km from the city center. After World War I, the ruined fortress buildings were demolished and used for other purposes. For years, their area has been the target of searching for military associations and reconstructors. One of them runs the Museum of the Przemyśl Fortress.
The exhibition in Przemyśl shows weapons, personal items, uniforms of soldiers as well as equipment for forts and souvenirs. The Borek fort has been renovated for several years to restore its appearance from 1914, along with the planting of camouflage vegetation. The fort also has large elements of armored equipment that cannot be displayed in Przemyśl for lack of space.
