The 18th-century monastery complex of Benedictine nuns is the oldest monument in the left-bank part of Przemyśl. The baroque Church of The Holy Trinity consists of the late-baroque and rococo equipment: the wonderful 18th-century polychrome by Stanisław Stroiński, the altars by Ferdynand Majerski and valuable baroque paintings. The complex is surrounded by the defensive wall with shooting holes and fortified towers. The stone figure of Saint John of Nepomuk located near the entrance to the bridge is also worthy of attention.
The beginnings of the abbey date back to 1616, when first Benedictine nuns arrived in Przemyśl from neighboring Jarosław. The current shape of the monastery complex comes from the first half of the 18th century and was founded by Kiev voivode Franciszek Salezy Potocki. The nuns ran a very renowned school for girls. During the dramatic battles in 1941, the complex got heavily damaged. It wasn't rebuilt until 1976.The legend says that the monastery church was built as an atonement for transgression.
