Lake Malta

Lake Malta is an artificial lake located in the center of Poznań. Important rowing, canoeing and windsurfing regatta, and theatre and music events are organized here. It's the largest artificial reservoir in the city. It's an ideal place for leisure as well as training for runners, skaters, and cyclists.

The recreation center can be found on the south bank of the lake. Its offer consists of a ski slope, summer bobsleigh track, minigolf field, and surface and chair lifts. What is more, the area of the lake contains a water music stage, guarded beach resort, artificial ice rink, bowling, boule, cinema and the Center of Wellness.

The lake was created in 1952 by the layering of Cybina River and covers the area of 64ha. It was named after cavaliers of the Order of Malta also known as knights of the Order of Saint John. They set up their church, headquarters, and hospice here.
