Natural History Museum of the Świętokrzyski National Park

The Natural History Museum of the Świętokrzyski National Park is located in the former buildings of the monastery on Bald Mountain. Since 2010, it has the new, multimedia exposition dedicated to geology, flora and fauna, and the management of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains.

The exhibition is divided into the department of the geology of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains and its nature, and the human activity in this region. It starts with the large, plastic model of the entire area of the mountains which allows a better understanding of locations of the described phenomena. The next halls, with the use of images, audio, and multimedia effects, present complex processes of formation of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, their geological past to modern times and present landscape. There are the most characteristic habitats of fauna and flora with models of specimens which inhabit them.

The museum also shows the human activity in these areas, which today are occupied by the park. There are stands which let visitors learn about the ancient metallurgy of iron and glass, forest management, and the agricultural management of this region.
