Museum of Minerals

Local name: Muzeum Minerałów

In Nowa Ruda, the Museum of Minerals is located in the buildings of the former hard coal mine. The collections are divided into the following exhibitions: World Minerals, Polish Minerals, Gemstones, Meteorites, Rocks, Ambers and Inclusions, Fossils and Educational Specimens. The museum contains the first dinosaur fossils found in Poland.

The collection has more than 2,700 specimens. The museum was established in 2001 in Złoty Stok and operated there until 2004. Then, in 2004 - 2012 it operated in Nowa Ruda in post-mining buildings. In the years 2012–2014 it was located in Kłodzko, and in 2014 it finally returned to its former place in Nowa Ruda.

This is a private facility. It was created thanks to the commitment of Robert Borzęcki, who shared his private collection. Currently, it works under the auspices of the SPIRIFER Geological Society. Some of the museum's exhibits are also open to the public at the Paleontological Museum in Lisowice.
