Mechelinki Beach
Local name: Plaża w Mechelinkach
Two and a half meters wide on average 20 m of clean sand. In the high season toilets, guarded swimming pool, water equipment rentals and a stage where various types of entertainment are organized. The beach has facilities for wheelchair users. Shallow water and relatively strong winds in this place create favorable conditions for surfing.
Mechelinki is a small (about 300 inhabitants) Kashubian fishing village. There is a marina on the beach. There are usually several boats moored here, which are a kind of tourist attraction. There is a small market where you can buy fresh fish straight from the boat. Local accommodation encourages low prices.
Mechelinki is adjacent to the nature reserve "Mechelińskie Łąki". The beach overlooks a picturesque cliff and the waterfront buildings of the former German torpedo pit in Babich Dolny, which was erected and used during the Second World War. In good weather from the shore you can see Hel.
