The historic shopping centre complex is located in the very centre of Gdynia. The building complex was established in 1938 and is still vibrant. Additionally, it has unique architectural features that make it one of a kind not only in Poland but also in Europe.
The Complex of Municipal Market Halls in Gdynia includes three buildings, each with a different type of services. In the largest, with roof finished in parabolic shape, fruits and vegetables are sold. The L-shaped building is the centre for the sale of meat products, while the last one was intended for sale of fish.Halls designed by Jerzy Müller and Stefan Reychman are an example of architectural style called constructivism.
