The Treasury of the Lublin Archcathedral is located in the hall of the former chapter-house. Its walls and ceiling are covered with baroque, illusionistic frescoes made by Józef Meyer. In the Treasury and the neighboring Acoustic Sacristy there are displayed the most valuable items gathered in the cathedral. These are primarily liturgical vestments and vessels, as well as artistic crafts.
The interior of the Lublin Archcathedral covers the 18th century frescoes made by Józef Meyer. In some places, they are now recreated after the destruction of World War II. In the Treasury, they have been preserved intact. On the double vault, one can see scenes from the story of Heliodor, which is in the Second Book of Maccabees. The lower parts of the walls occupy illusionistic frescos reproducing architectural elements and vases standing in corners. In the Treasury, you can see old liturgical vessels, goldsmiths and jewellers works held by the cathedral, as well as liturgical books and vestments.Less
