The House of Words, known as the Chamber of Printing in the past, connects the function of a museum and an educational center that organizes workshops, where you can learn about the mysteries of Lublin's printing in the past and nowadays.
In the museum, the workplaces such as printing-house with typesetting department, lithography department, paper mill, and book-bindery are arranged. The collection includes original printing machines, documents, photos depicting the history of the "Popularna" print-house and Józef Łobodowski, monuments documenting paper manufacturing techniques, paper composition, creation of graphics on a lithographic limestone, and a large number of other exhibits. The ambience of the facility is created by the renovated rooms of the former "Popularna" print-house, which existed until 1932. The first Chamber of Tradition of Lublin's Printing was established in this place in 1972. In May 2008, on initiative of the "Grodzka Gate - NN Theatre" Centre, the Memorial Room of Polish Printing was opened. A curiosity connected to this place, is the fact that its guests were well-known writers and poets, among whom Józef Czechowicz and Józef Łobodowski had leapt off the page.Less
