Lublin History Museum

The museum resides in the building of the former Cracow Gate that is dated back to the 14th century. The museum collection, that can be seen in the interiors, includes monuments dedicated to the history of Lublin and the daily life of its inhabitants from the 6th century to 1944.

The museum exhibitions presented in the historic building, are a broad cross-section of the city's history, covering one and a half thousand years of history. The oldest artifacts come from archaeological excavations and include everyday objects, decorations, instruments documenting the lifestyle and work of former inhabitants. The exhibition comprises iconographic exhibits, prints, documents and craft products as well, also from the last two centuries.

The permanent museum exhibitions include "Lublin on photographs from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries", a jewel in the crown of this collection are seven photographs by T. M. Dagajew from around 1900 and the exhibition "Streets of Lublin", which depicts former appearance and history of Świętoduska and Królewska Streets.
