The Museum of Public Transport in Łódź documents the history of public transport in Łódź dating back to the late 19th century. The exhibition presents models of tram cars in a real scale, sets of tickets from different periods, ticket machines, directional boards, as well as photos showing the transformations of Łódź public transport.
The museum was established in 2006 on the basis of the MPK Chamber of Tradition. It presents collections related to the development of transport in Łódź, collected over the years by employees of MPK and the Club of Lovers of Old Trams in Łódź. In its collection, among others, photos from 1898, made of prints from glass negatives, can be found. These photos were juxtaposed with photos taken in the same place one hundred years later. In addition, in the exhibition, visitors can see the equipment of public transport employees, tickets, ticket machines, rail adjusters, a bus stop clock, tables and line maps, and old stops.Less
