The palace is one of the branches of the Museum of Art in Łódź, it presents collections of old paintings, sculptures, graphics, and artistic handicrafts at permanent exhibitions. The exhibitions comprise two collections of Polish and European painting from the 19th and early 20th centuries, including the works of Henryk Rodakowski, Piotr Michałowski, Stanisław Wyspiański, and Jan Matejko.
Visitors can also see a collection of Sarmatian portraits from the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as paintings by Józef Chełmoński, Aleksander Gierymski, Olga Boznańska, Jacek Malczewski, sculpture by Ksawery Dunikowski, and oeuvres of many other well-known artists. The European collection contains artworks created between the 16th and the beginning of the 20th century. The collection of old foreign art includes 1,600 objects, and Polish art comprises over 700 works, including about 450 oil paintings.Also remarkable is the palace from the 19th century, formerly an integral part of the factory and residential complex in Księży Młyn, that belonged to the Herbst and Scheibler family.
