Biedermann Palace - University Museum

Local name: Pałac Biedermanna - Muzeum Uniwersyteckie

The Palace, built in 1912, in style refers to modernism. Visitors can see masterpieces of interior art there. For generations, the Palace had been a seat of the Biedermann family, the German factory owners from Łódź, who had a significant influence on the development of the city and the textile industry. Since 1998, the University of Łódź has been the owner of the Palace and the garden with the buildings. In the building a museum of the University of Łódź, faculties of cultural studies and art history are located. Meetings related to the life of the university and official university celebrations are held there.

The neo-Renaissance interior of the building deserves the attention of the Biedermann's Palace visitors, such as a fireplace room where are stairs with an asymmetrical composition with a richly ornamented handrail decoration. The rich decor characterizes also a study room with walnut library cabinets, wooden panelling, and a fireplace.

Dapper interiors are conducive to organizing there conferences, concerts, book promotions, and other official ceremonies, including civil weddings.
