Atlas Arena

Atlas Arena is the largest sports and entertainment hall in Łódź. It is a building on the circular plan, surrounded by a moat. There can be over 10,000 spectators in the stands. The arena can be used for athletics, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and ice hockey competitions. In addition, concerts and mass events take place there.

The decision of the hall construction was made in 2004. The works lasted until 2009. The hall activity was inaugurated by the Poland-Brazil volleyball match as part of the Volleyball World League. Since then, Atlas Arena regularly has hosted sports competitions of various levels. There are also concerts of world-class stars. In the Arena performed, among others, Ennio Morricone, Jean Michael Jarre, Queen, and Scorpions. During the concerts, the number of seats in the hall can be increased by an additional 3,000 people standing on the ground.

Diameter of the hall is 165 meters. Its rooms are located on 5 floors. It is topped with a domed roof which in the highest place is over 30 meters above the pitch.
