The Firefighting Museum is run by the local Volunteer Fire Brigade and is located next to its fire station. It exhibited several hundred exhibits related to the history of firefighting, as well as the history of the city and its inhabitants. Next to the museum pavilion there is a shed, under which there are former fire trucks, fire equipment from Prussian times and a guard combat vehicle from 1952.
The museum was established in 1972 on the initiative of the then TSO head Maksymilian Angra and is one of the first of its kind in Poland. The collections were forwarded by volunteer fire brigades from the entire voivodship, as well as by private individuals. They are spread over over 100 m² of exhibition space. Visitors can watch, among others fire-fighting equipment from the 19th and 20th centuries, firefighter uniforms, numerous documents and chronicles.
The facility also conducts educational activities on fire safety.
