Chojnowska Gate Tower in Legnica is a fragment of the medieval walls surrounding the medieval town. Brick brick tower consists of eight storeys. There are traces of old shooting ranges, window openings, ceramic roof with shoebox, Chojnowska Gate and fragments of defensive walls adjacent to the tower.
By the inhabitants of Legnica, the tower is commonly called simply Chojnowska Gate or Chojnowska Tower. The building was erected on a rectangular plan measuring 7.4 mx 8 m. It was built in the first half of the 15th century as a strengthening of the 14th century defensive walls and the protection of the Chojnowska Gate.
It was one of four towers next to Złotoryjska, Wrocławska and Głogowska, protecting the medieval town. Chojnowska Tower has been rebuilt many times over the course of history. In the 19th century Legnica's defensive walls were dismantled. In 1963 the tower was renovated and was then used for tourist accommodation PTTK.
