Zielinski Palace

Local name: Pałac Zielińskiego

Located in the very center of the city, the Tomasz Zieliński Palace in Kielce is considered as one of the most important monuments in Kielce. It's a place which continues the ideas of its creator to this day. The House of Creative Communities, where exhibitions, concerts and meetings are organized, is located there.

The palace was named after its builder, Tomasz Zieliński. In the first half of the 19th century, Zieliński rented the area of the former riding school owned by the Cracow's bishops and on its foundation built the neo-gothic house. The characteristic for this style parts - towers and bay windows, preserved to this day.

Zieliński was the lover and patron of arts. In his palace, Zieliński gathered a large number of pieces of arts, monumental items and old prints. It was the first public museum in the Kielce region. Unfortunately, the collections were spread after his death, the part of them can be found in the other museums in the country.

The interiors of the palace were richly decorated. Only a small part of the equipment preserved to this day. Despite this, the Concert Hall with its high windows still makes a great impression. Various artistic and cultural events take place in the palace. The palace also has a cafe.
