The Sienkiewicz street, former Konstanty street, was designed at the beginning of the 19th century by Marian Potocki, the specialist in geodesy of Kingdom of Poland. The street ran through the road that had been connecting property of the Cracow's bishops with the district inhabited by a townsman. It was quite quickly paved because it led to important offices. After some time, the railway station was built on the other side of the street.Nowadays, Sienkiewicz street is the most important promenade in Kielce. The monumental tenement houses from the 19th and 20th century stand near the street. Many of them have features of the secessionist style. The simple shape of the evangelical church topped by the pointed tower stands out from the rest of the buildings.
