Stanisław Staszic City Park in Kielce is located at the foot of the Castle Hill. Its area covers almost 8ha and is a popular place for strolls. The park offers the large pond with fountains, walking alleys and leisure spaces.
The park was created at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1922 it received Stanisław Staszic name, whose monument stands there since 1906. The park has mixed tree stand with the domination of ash, maple, lime tree and Aesculus. The western part of the park consists of the pond which covers over 1ha. The fountain's jets have the shape of fish. The sculpture 'Oath of Love' can be found near the Biruta spring, named in honor of the Marcin Borowicz's loved one from the 'Syzyfowe Prace' novel. The author of the book also has his own monument there since 1953.The Tomasz Zieliński Palace is also located in the park. The aviary with rare bird specimens can be found nearby.Less
