Although the Museum of History of Kielce itself has relatively short history, the idea of its creation has been around for over a hundred years. Acts of the city were devoted to permanent exhibitions existing in the Museum of National Museum and National Museum. In 2006 the city council of Kielce decided to create a separate Kielce History Museum and allocated a 19th century tenement house for the newly built tenement house, which was in the past owned by the Land Credit Society.
After the renovation, the new museum opened in 2008. On the one hand, collections of objects collected by PTK members from the beginning of the 20th century, on the other hand, were provided by the inhabitants of Kielce during the establishment of the institution. Thanks to this, a fascinating exhibition was created, which allowed to trace the fate of the city from its origins to modern times. Its significant part is the collection devoted to everyday life of the inhabitants.
