Kadzielnia Caves - underground tourist route
Local name: Jaskinie na Kadzielni - podziemna trasa turystyczna
Kadzielnia Caves are part of Kielce Geopark. There are three corridors connected by caves formed in the limestone hill Kadzielnia. Since 2012 they are available for tourists as part of an underground tourist route. During the tour you can see various fossils, karst forms as well as caused by tectonic movements.
The cedar was used for several hundred years as a source of limestone. In the 20th century it was protected, and at its feet an amphitheater was built. At the beginning of the 21st century, Kadzielnia caves were intensively explored by the Swietokrzyski speleoklub. As a result of the preparations, the corridors of the Explorers' Caves, the Powder Room and the Cracks in Kadzielnia were connected. The route is 160 meters long.
Visitors can see the remains of the Devonian sea, including fossils such as corals, cephalopods, and other warm water. In addition, there is a rich stalagmite, consisting of stalactites, stalagmites and columns, as well as debris and tectonic faults.
