The Geological Museum in Kielce run by the Polish Geological Institute presents the rich geological past of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. The museum exhibits minerals that appear in the area and many examples of fossils discovered in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains.
One of the exhibitions is called '600 million years of history of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains' and displays the minerals that form the mountains: sandstone, flint and marble, and also ores: copper, lead, iron and sulfur. The second exhibition is focused on the fossils found in the region: dinosaur tracks, fossilized animalcules from the Devonian sea, plant imprints including horsetails and ground pines.The outdoor exhibition of diverse rocks and dinosaur models is located in front of the building.Less
