The group of sandstones in Karłów, known as Białe Ściany (White Walls) or Biały Kamień (White Stone) are famous for its characteristic, white color. The rocks, which height varies between 20 and 30 m, are not only an attraction for tourists traveling on this height (800 m) but also enthusiasts of rock climbing - they provide many climbing routes of different difficulty levels. Białe Skały can be accessed by two tourist tracks. The group is a part of the Stołowe Mountains National Park.
The rocks are variously shaped - they resemble walls, towers, and poles. Some of them also have original names: Zielony Król (Green King), Bubek, Kibic (Fan). Their shape is a result of long-term erosion and mechanical processes in which a significant role was played by water.Because of the humidity of sandstones, the area is overgrown with bryophytes and lichens.Less
