Center for Drawing and Graphics Tadeusz Kulisiewicz is housed in a historic building of a former Jesuit college. The creation of the Center was the fulfillment of the artist's last will. In the gallery, Kulisiewicz's Warsaw studio was reconstructed in detail. According to the donor's assumption, the institution promotes Polish contemporary art.
The center was divided into three parts. In the studio recreated on the basis of photographic documentation and archival films, we will see its equipment, the artist's personal items and souvenirs brought from around the world. In the second part, a biographical exhibition was organized, which includes, among others documents, photographs, correspondence and publications. In the third, about 1,400 pastels, graphics and drawings of Kulisiewicz were displayed.
At the entrance to the Center, visitors are greeted by one of Kulisiewicz's sensual acts, reflecting the artistry of an artist born in 1889 in Kalisz. He gained artistic education in Poznań and Warsaw. At the beginning, the artist mainly dealt with graphics, especially woodcut. After the war, he devoted himself entirely to drawing.
