Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

Local name: Kościół Podwyższenia Krzyża Świętego

Catholic church, whose full name is: Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Jelenia Góra. It is one of the six Lutheran Churches of Grace, commissioned to build in 1709. Designed in Baroque style, on the Greek cross, was decorated with many wall paintings on the vaults. In the temple there is an impressive size organ props (4571 pipes) dating from 1727.

Visitors can admire the baroque interiors and decorations in the interior of the church, such as the richly decorated altar, murals or baptismal font made of blue marble. There are also three authentic relics in the temple: the Holy Cross, Saint Faustina and the holy Mary de Mattias. It is noteworthy that the European Organ Music Festival is being held here. The church is surrounded by a parish cemetery with a unique Baroque burial chapel of the patrician patriarchs in Silesia.
