Regional Museum in Janów Lubelski is the only museum in this regional city. Its headquarters are the building of the Old Prison, which was established in the 1920s of the nineteenth century. The museum houses both permanent and temporary exhibitions. On permanent exhibitions, museums showing the history of Janów Lubelskie from 1640 to the end of World War II were placed. On the premises of the institution a photo gallery was created, and in it an exhibition titled "The history of Janów Lubelski in photography". In addition to exposing the history of the city, there are exhibits related to textiles and weaving.
The facility conducts research in the area of the Janów district. In order to extract information about the history of the region, he works in archives and private museums. In addition, the museum organizes seminars, workshops on pottery and plaiting and cultural events.
