Chrząszcz Monument
Local name: Pomnik Chrząszcza
Szczebrzeszyn was made famous throughout Poland by Jan Brzechwa and his poem "Beetle". In 2002, at the foot of the Castle Hill stood the first monument of Chrząszcza. A wooden sculpture depicts an insect playing violin.
The fact that in Szczebrzeszyn the beetle sounds in the reed knows almost everyone. In 2002, pupils of the Lycée of Fine Arts in Zamość under the supervision of Zygmunt Jarmuła made an insect monument from linden tree. He stood by the spring, among the reeds, to best illustrate the popular poem.
