The Belarusian Culture Museum and Center in Hajnówka is an institution initiated by the Belarusian minority living in Poland. The main purpose of this object was to popularize the culture and customs of Belarusians living in Podlasie.
The museum has three permanent exhibitions. The first of them "Day by day" presents the work and everyday life of the Belarusian population in Podlasie. The exhibition hall shows the most important farm activities, such as pig slaughtering, haymaking, excavations, grain threshing and honey harvesting. In addition, the symbolic interior of the room was shown on Christmas Eve and Kupala Night. The exhibition was enriched with numerous everyday items.
The second exhibition "Before the bread was laid on the table" shows the characteristic rural farm of Belarusians of Podlasie. Visitors can admire the agricultural tools used in the nineteenth / twentieth century, a horse cart and the then means of transport, i.e. a sleigh and a ladder cart. You can look here at the mill, or barn, and see its furnishings, as well as the granary.
The third exhibition is entitled "Living a harmonious walk" and is devoted to folk crafts and handicrafts. In addition to permanent exhibitions, there are also temporary exhibitions presenting painting, photography and folk art. The museum also has a library of Belarusian literature in which library lessons are conducted .
