Grodziec Castle

Local name: Zamek Grodziec

Grodziec Castle is one of the best-preserved castles in Lower Silesia and the biggest attraction in the region. The castle, which is still rebuilt, consists of Great Hall, Prince Room, princess rooms, and the chapel. The available attractions are three towers or a walk on the walls with a sight on the beautiful panorama of the Kaczawskie Highlands. Tournaments, Feasts of Kresowe Groups, Silesian Day of Song, and many more cultural-didactic events are organized here.

The impressive building, which history dates back to the 12th century, has been renovated in order to bring back its former glory since 2004 on the initiative of its new owner castellan Zenon Bernacki. New parts of the equipment are added each year. The renovated walls also contribute to creating a unique atmosphere of the past. The location of the castle itself is also impressive - the steep, basaltic hill, which picturesquely towers over the area.

Many movies and tv series were directed in the castle such as "Przyłbice i Kaptury", "Witcher", theater performance "Romeo and Juliet", and "Fanny Hill". It was also visited by Robert Makłowicz and few foreign televisions. The castle also offers an accommodation in comfortable rooms.
